Fused Glass

I use fused glass in many of my stained glass projects as well for making bowls, wall hangings and light catchers.

Different combinations of coloured and patterned glass can be cut to shape then permently bonded by partially melting the glasses together in a kiln.

The glass used in any one item must be the same type or have the same coefficient number or the piece will crack due to the different glasses cooling at different rates.

The kiln process takes many hours as the glass has to reach the given temperature then slowly come down to room temperature before the kiln can be opened.
